Terri Miller is unique in the horse world. Not only is she one of the most sought after equine photographers in the country, but she is also a nationally recognized painter who accepts commissioned portraits in oils, watercolor, and pencil. Terri travels extensively, and will visit your farm, or meet you at the show or location of your choosing for a photo session. Many satisfied clients have used her photographs in national advertising campaigns. Others have them hanging throughout their homes and offices or send them as gifts to friends and family. Her photographs continually appear in a host of magazines including People, Sports Illustrated for Kids, Fine Homes, Practical Horsemen, Dressage Today and Equus. They are also published in many books and calendars. As an equestrian photographer, Terri has an exceptional ability to capture a horse's character, whether that horse is formally posed, turned out in a field, or under saddle. A graduate of New York's acclaimed School of Visual Arts, she sees through the lens with the eyes of a painter. Recently she won the Shoot To Win press photo contest sponsored by Offield Farm at the World Cup in Las Vegas. Terri's horse paintings have graced the cover of The Chronicle of the Horse many times, been featured in Dressage Today, and her "Oneness" series of watercolors, published as commemorative posters for the Barcelona Olympics, was sold out. In 1997, her watercolor of Gifted became the poster for the inaugural North American Dressage Championships. Recently her work has been juried into exhibitions with the California Art Club and the American Academy of Equine Artists, and her painting of Roemer hangs on permanent display at the USDF Hall of Fame in Lexington, KY. Terri is in great demand for her commissioned portraits. In her paintings she combines her love of motion, color and composition with attention to the details that make up the personality of the horse. A life-long rider, and a keen and continual observer of horses, she has an in depth knowledge of equine anatomy and how it translates to canvas and paper. Her oils, watercolors and graphites hang in the homes of satisfied clients from coast to coast. When she's not traveling throughout the rest of the world, Terri paints landscapes en plein aire near her home in southern California, where she resides with her husband, dressage judge Axel Steiner. |
